Malaysia eVisa for Bangladeshi Citizens

A practical guide for applicants who hold a Bangladeshi passport: which eVisa categories our service covers, what to prepare, what it costs and how Immigration's assessment fits in. Use it to prepare, not as a ruling on your own case.

Malaysia eVisa Overview for Bangladeshi Citizens

Bangladesh appears among the nationalities for which this website publishes eVisa information, and this page gathers that information for applicants who hold a Bangladeshi passport. It explains which eVisa categories our online application service covers, what to prepare before you start, what the service costs and where an application goes once it has been submitted.

Please read it as preparation guidance rather than a ruling on your own case. Options and requirements can differ with passport nationality, purpose of travel and individual circumstances, and every application is assessed by Immigration only after it has been submitted. Nothing here, and nothing about completing an application, guarantees a visa.

Two categories
Our service covers the Tourist eVisa and the Business eVisa, each at a Regular or an Express service level.
Applied for online
You complete the application and provide your documents online before you travel, then review and submit it.
Immigration decides
After submission, Immigration assesses the application on its own terms. We prepare and submit; we do not decide.

We have deliberately left out details that we cannot confirm for Bangladeshi applicants, such as visa validity, the permitted length of stay, entry conditions or any exemptions. Those are determined by Immigration, so check the details on any decision you receive against your passport before you travel.

Tourist and Business eVisa Options

The right category depends on why you are travelling. Choosing the one that matches your purpose also tells you which supporting documents to prepare.

Tourist eVisa

For a holiday, sightseeing or a personal visit to family or friends in Malaysia. You may stay in a hotel or with a host; the supporting documents differ slightly between the two.

Tourist eVisa requirements

Business eVisa

For meetings, business discussions, events and other eligible business activities. The application may also ask about the organization you represent and the company you plan to visit.

Business eVisa requirements

Taking up approved employment, studying, joining a family member who holds a pass, or making an approved official visit falls under the Visa with Reference (VDR) entry-visa categories rather than the Tourist or Business eVisa.

Single Entry and Multiple Entry

Single Entry
Intended for one entry into Malaysia, subject to the visa's conditions and Immigration's decision.
Multiple Entry
May permit more than one entry during its validity period, where the option is available and approved. It depends on nationality-specific eligibility and immigration conditions, so this page cannot promise that it will be offered to a Bangladeshi applicant. A Single Entry application may be the only option for some applicants.

Malaysia eVisa Document Requirements

Every application starts with the same three identity items. What else you need depends on your category and on what the application asks for, so treat the lists below as a preparation guide and not as a complete or universal checklist.

Identity items for every applicant

  • The valid passport you will actually travel with.
  • A clear colour copy of its biodata page, showing all four edges and the machine-readable lines at the bottom, without glare, shadows or blur.
  • A recent passport-style photograph on a plain background, with a natural appearance and no filters or heavy editing.

Photograph size and format instructions appear in the application form at the point of upload; this page does not publish dimensions.

Supporting documents that may be requested for a Tourist eVisa

  • A flight booking or travel itinerary.
  • A hotel or accommodation confirmation, or host documents if you will stay with family or friends.
  • A bank statement or other acceptable financial evidence, where required.
  • A current residence permit, where applicable.

Additional documents that may be requested for a Business eVisa

  • An invitation or supporting letter from the organization you plan to visit in Malaysia.
  • Purpose-of-visit information describing your planned meetings or activities.
  • Company registration or organizational details, where applicable.
  • An employment confirmation letter or business identification showing your professional role.
If you live outside Bangladesh
Applicants who apply from a country other than the one that issued their passport can add evidence of a valid residence permit or long-term stay authorization there, together with travel evidence showing their intended return after Malaysia.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (If Applicable)
Whether a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is needed depends on travel history and route, not passport nationality alone. Check whether it applies to your journey and carry the certificate when required. The document requirements guide has the full wording.
No separate Bangladesh list
This website does not publish a Bangladesh-specific document list. If the application asks for something that is not mentioned here, provide it; the request itself is the final word on what your application needs.

How to Apply for a Malaysia eVisa

The online application follows the same three stages for everyone: complete the application, provide supporting documents, then review and submit. These six steps spread the work out so that nothing is rushed at the end.

  1. Choose your category and entry option

Decide whether your trip is a Tourist or a Business visit, and whether you want Single Entry or, where it is available to you, Multiple Entry.

  2. Pick a service level

Choose Regular or Express. The price of each is shown in the fees section below.

  3. Collect and check your documents

Photograph the passport page in good light and gather the travel, accommodation, financial or business documents that apply to your trip.

  4. Enter your details exactly as printed

Copy your name, passport number, date of birth and nationality from the passport itself. A mismatch with the passport copy is the most common reason for a clarification request.

  5. Upload the documents requested

Provide the items asked for under your category, readable and complete.

  6. Review, submit and respond promptly

Read each field once more against your documents, complete the submission, and answer any later request quickly.

Regular and Express Service Options

Regular service

The standard option. We review your documents for completeness and consistency, prepare the application and submit it to Immigration, without priority handling.

Express service

For applicants who want their application handled with priority inside our own assistance process. It does not shorten Immigration's assessment and does not guarantee an earlier decision or approval.

Because the assessment after submission belongs to Immigration, the difference between the two levels is limited to our own handling stage. If your travel date is close, remember that neither level lets us promise when a decision will arrive.

Immigration Assessment and Processing

Two different parties are involved in a Malaysia eVisa application. We assist with preparation: receiving your information, checking documents for completeness and consistency, and submitting the application. Once it has been submitted, Immigration assesses it independently and decides the outcome.

That division matters for every question about timing. How Immigration reviews an application, what it asks for, how long its assessment takes and what it decides are Immigration's own matters. We cannot influence, override, accelerate or change an immigration decision, and we cannot see inside its review.

Before submission, with us
Your information and documents are received, checked and corrected where needed, and the application is prepared and submitted.
After submission, with Immigration
Immigration assesses the application, may ask for more, and determines the final outcome. We relay requests and updates that reach us through the application process.

For that reason this page gives no processing time for Bangladeshi applicants or for any other nationality. Any figure would be a guess, and a pending application has neither been approved nor refused.

Additional Documents and Possible Delays

Some applications, though not all, need more than the original set of documents. Immigration may ask for an additional or replacement document, for clarification of something already provided, or for verification of the details submitted, and it may take extra time to complete its assessment. A request is not a refusal, and a complete checklist does not rule one out.

A passport copy that is hard to read
Glare, shadows, blur or a cropped edge mean a new copy is needed.
Details that do not match
A name, passport number, date of birth or nationality entered differently from the passport.
Dates that disagree
Travel dates in the application, the flight booking and the accommodation confirmation should line up.
Missing host or business papers
A stay with a host but no host documents, or a business visit without a clear invitation and company details.
Further assessment by Immigration
Sometimes Immigration decides it needs more time or information, however complete the application was.

If a request arrives, respond quickly and accurately, keep your passport and bookings unchanged where you can, and avoid non-refundable travel commitments on the assumption that a decision will arrive by a particular date.

Preparing for Travel to Malaysia

Once a decision is available, compare every detail on it with your passport before you travel, and keep using the passport named in the application.

Keep your details consistent
Have the passport, flight and accommodation information that match what you entered in the application close to hand.
Wait before you commit
Hold off on non-refundable flights or accommodation until a decision has been issued.
Check what applies to you
Visa issuance, entry permissions and final approval remain subject to applicable immigration requirements, and individual circumstances differ. Confirm anything that depends on your own journey.
The MDAC is separate
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is an arrival-information requirement apart from the visa. Its own page explains who needs it and how it works.

Frequently Asked Questions for Bangladeshi Applicants

Can Bangladeshi citizens use your service to apply for a Malaysia eVisa?

Bangladesh is one of the nationalities for which this website publishes eVisa information, and our service covers the Tourist eVisa and the Business eVisa. Whether an individual application is approved is decided by Immigration, and options can depend on your purpose of travel and personal circumstances.

Will I be offered a Multiple Entry visa?

Multiple Entry is subject to nationality-specific eligibility, applicable immigration conditions and Immigration approval, so it cannot be promised in advance to any individual applicant. A Single Entry application may be the only option for some applicants.

Which documents should I prepare first?

Start with the three identity items: your passport, a clear colour copy of its biodata page and a recent passport-style photograph. Then add the travel, accommodation, financial or business documents that fit your category, and be ready to provide anything further that the application requests.

I live outside Bangladesh. Can I still apply?

Applicants who live in a country other than the one that issued their passport can prepare the usual documents together with evidence of their valid residence permit or long-term stay authorization there, and travel evidence showing the intended return after Malaysia. Eligibility still depends on your nationality and purpose of travel.

How long will my application take?

We do not state a processing time, for Bangladeshi applicants or anyone else. After submission, the assessment and how long it takes are decided by Immigration, and it can take longer when more documents or verification are needed.

Does the Express service guarantee an earlier decision?

No. Express gives priority handling within our own assistance process only. It does not shorten Immigration's assessment and does not guarantee approval or an earlier decision.

What happens if Immigration asks for more documents?

The request is passed to you, you provide the items asked for, and Immigration continues its assessment. A request does not mean the application has been refused, and it has not been approved either. Quick, accurate replies help avoid further delay.

I will stay with relatives in Malaysia. What do I prepare for my host?

Prepare your host's documents in place of a hotel booking. For a Malaysian citizen host that means a copy of the MyKad, a recent utility bill showing the host's address and a signed invitation or sponsorship letter. For a foreign national living in Malaysia, the host's passport biodata page and valid long-term residence authorization take the place of the MyKad.

Is the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card part of this application?

The MDAC is a separate arrival-information requirement and is not part of the eVisa application. The MDAC Overview page explains who needs it and how it works.

If my documents are complete, will a visa be issued?

No. Complete and consistent documents help avoid requests that could have been prevented, but every application remains subject to Immigration's assessment and decision, and payment does not guarantee issuance.

This page is general information to help you prepare. It is not legal or immigration advice, it does not predict the outcome of any application, and requirements can differ between applicants.
