Malaysia Dependent Pass VDR Entry Visa

This page is for eligible family members joining an approved pass holder in Malaysia. It covers the entry-visa application that follows the dependent approvals, and how your relationship to the sponsor is documented.

Who This Family Page Is For

Eligible family members who hold the VDR letter and Immigration approval letter for their dependent arrangements may use this service, subject to the applicable entry-visa requirements.

Core Documents for Family Applicants

  1. Recent passport-style photograph.
  2. Valid passport.
  3. Clear copy of the passport biodata page.
  4. Visa with Reference (VDR) letter.
  5. Immigration approval letter.
  6. Supporting documents relevant to the selected visa category.

Relationship and Sponsor Documents

  • Sponsor or principal pass holder's supporting information. Supporting information from the sponsor or principal pass holder you are joining.
  • Marriage certificate or birth certificate. Prepare the one that applies to your relationship, or other relevant evidence of your relationship to the sponsor or principal pass holder.
  • Dependent or sponsorship approval documents (where applicable). Add any relevant dependent or sponsorship approval documents that apply.
  • Current residence permit (where applicable). Applicants living outside their country of nationality prepare a copy of their valid residence visa or residence permit there.

Additional documents may be requested depending on the application.

Family Travel Preparation

A relationship document links you to the sponsor or principal pass holder, so the details on it matter. Compare the names and dates of birth on your marriage or birth certificate with your passport copy, and keep the sponsor's supporting information consistent with what you enter.

If more than one family member is preparing, remember that service fees are listed per applicant.

From Dependent Approval to Entry Visa

  1. Confirm your dependent approvals

    Look for the VDR letter and the Immigration approval letter tied to your dependent arrangements.

  2. Gather identity and relationship documents

    Prepare your passport, photograph and biodata page copy, then your marriage or birth certificate, the sponsor's supporting information and any dependent approval documents.

  3. Submit the dependent entry-visa application

    Provide the supporting documents it asks for, using the relationship paperwork and sponsor information you gathered.

  4. Wait for the Immigration decision

    Immigration reviews the application and makes the applicable decision. Approval and visa issuance are not guaranteed.
